Village of Cheshire – High-End Homes for Sale
The Village of Cheshire is one of the higher-end communities in Black Mountain, North Carolina. It is often referred to as simply “Cheshire” or “Cheshire Village.” Homes and townhomes in this planned community are built in the craftsman style. At the front of the community, along the east side of NC Highway 9, Cheshire’s commercial district offers restaurants, a salon, and office space. The community features sidewalks, an amphitheater, a playground, and a community garden.
Directly across the street (NC Hwy 9) are the Black Mountain YMCA, Creekside Racquet Club, and Lakey Creek Health Center. More development is currently underway on the west side of NC Hwy 9, including a new residential section called “The Jacobs Cottages,” and a live-work district known as the “East End.” The East End is the first phase of “Main Street,” which will eventually extend further north down NC Highway 9 and offer more shopping and residential loft spaces.
While many of these homes are occupied as primary residences, some of the homes sold in Cheshire end up being used as vacation rentals or second homes. Homes for sale in Cheshire Village can be of several different types, including Cottages, Treehouses, and Townhomes. The cottages are generally the larger homes, and several have detached guest cottages, called carriage houses. The cottages also have garages or porte-cochères. The treehouses are typically smaller and built on smaller or steeper lots. They don’t have garages, and they’re ideal for vacation home use. The townhomes are sometimes just as big (or bigger) than the Cottages, but with the benefit of exterior maintenance handled by an association. The Village of Cheshire has a master association that governs all properties in the neighborhood. Beneath the master association are sub-associations, such as the sub-association that governs and maintains the townhomes on Fitzgerald Drive.
When looking at lots for sale in the Village of Cheshire, it’s important to consider the required build time. Cheshire’s restrictive covenants require that lots be built on within a certain amount of time after purchase.
Our office is located on NC Hwy 9 just minutes from the entrance into the Village of Cheshire, and we’d love to show you the developer’s plans for future expansion or give you a tour of the existing inventory of homes and lots for sale.
