Properties for Sale near Lake Tomahawk Park
Properties for sale near Lake Tomahawk Park are essentially at the center of Black Mountain. Lake Tomahawk is 8.9 acres and is surrounded by a .55-mile walking trail. In 2009, the Town of Black Mountain renovated the swimming pool, and it is a very popular spot in the summer. The lake is open to the public for fishing, and there is a waterfowl refuge on an island near one end of the lake. There are also lighted tennis courts and a playground.
Real estate here is highly desirable because of the proximity not only to the park, but to downtown Black Mountain as well. Lake Tomahawk is not officially a “neighborhood,” as the properties for sale that adjoin Lake Tomahawk Park were platted in 1914 as part of the “Methodist Colony” subdivision. Some other lots up the hill to the east were platted in 1926 as “Lakewood Park.” Rarely are lots for sale near Lake Tomahawk Park, mainly because these neighborhoods were platted so long ago that most parcels have been built out.
However, there are frequently homes for sale near Lake Tomahawk, across a variety of price ranges. Most of the homes are single-family homes, but there are a few condos, townhomes, and multi-family properties in the area.
