Sovereign Oaks Homes for Sale
Sovereign Oaks is a newer gated community, located just outside of Asheville, North Carolina on 170 acres. The property was in the same family for over 200 years, and today the community encourages green building and preservation of the existing landscape. Architectural guidelines are in place to promote continuity throughout the neighborhood. Homeowners will enjoy hiking trails (including access to the Warren Wilson College trail system), an apiary, a greenhouse, and a community garden. Quite possibly the best feature of Sovereign Oaks is its very convenient location, approximately 7 miles to downtown Asheville, NC.
Lots and homes in Sovereign Oaks are divided into three phases: Phase 1 (The Meadows), Phase 2 (Brookside), and Phase 3 (The Overlook). The Meadows lots are closest to the community entrance, giving their owners the easiest access to Asheville. Several Brookside lots have frontage on Bull Creek, a tributary of the Swannanoa River. Overlook lots are at the highest elevation in the neighborhood – around 2300 feet elevation – and many of them offer beautiful mountain views and southern exposure. These parcels will need a septic system, but City of Asheville water is available.
Homes in Sovereign Oaks are of high quality and environmentally-friendly building is encouraged. The community allows for selective pruning of trees to enhance views, but this must be done thoughtfully. There is no specific architectural style that is preferred. Homes in Sovereign Oaks should be designed to blend into the natural setting.
