Vacation Homes and NC Land for Sale in Alpine Mountain

Alpine Mountain is a gated mountain community in Swannanoa, NC. It is conveniently located at almost the midway point between Asheville and Black Mountain. Many of the homes and lots for sale in Alpine Mountain have spectacular mountain views to the north or the west. These views are of the Craggy Mountains, a sub-range of the Blue Range Mountains.

There are typically more lots for sale than homes for sale in Alpine Mountain at any one time. This is a good neighborhood to consider if you’re interested in log cabins. But there are also other styles of homes to choose from, including Cape Cod, contemporary, and arts and crafts. Also, when considering Alpine Mountain property as a real estate investment or a second home, it’s important to note that Alpine Mountain does not allow short-term (vacation) rentals.

Most of the roads are paved except at the very top of the community, where the roads are gravel. Homes and land near the top can be well over 3000 feet elevation. This means the mountain views can be jaw-dropping, and also means there is potential for more snow in the winter. Fortunately, roads in the community are maintained by the Alpine Mountain Property Owners Association. Lots require septic systems and private wells.
